Overview

Understanding your back pain

Common underlying sources of back pain

Poor Posture

Long hours at a desk or slouched sitting place uneven mechanical strain on your spine and the muscles supporting it.

Disc Irritation

Bulging or herniated discs can press on nearby nerve roots, which is what creates persistent pain and leg symptoms.

Muscle Strain

Sudden movements, heavy lifting, or poor lifting mechanics cause micro-tears in the lower back muscles.

Does this sound like you?

These are the warning signs we hear most often. If any of them match your week, an assessment will tell you what is driving it.

  • Constant, dull ache that sits in the lower back
  • Sharp or shooting pain that travels down through the leg
  • Stiffness in the morning that limits how far you can bend
  • Pain that spikes after prolonged sitting, driving, or lifting
  • A feeling of weakness or instability when you stand up
Our disciplines

How we treat back pain

We build one integrated care plan that restores your movement from several clinical directions at once.

Mobilize and strengthen

Physiotherapy

Your physiotherapist guides you through targeted exercise, movement retraining, and joint mobilization to resolve the underlying weakness.

Release soft tissue

Massage Therapy

Registered massage therapy eases chronic muscle tension, settles areas that keep spasming, and improves circulation through the region.

Align spine dynamics

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic adjustments help restore normal joint motion in the spine and reduce the load on irritated segments.

Calm the pain signal

Acupuncture and IMS

Acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation release stubborn trigger points and help interrupt chronic pain patterns.

Patient journey

What to expect during your care

We do not do cookie-cutter care. You move through a structured, predictable process built around your own goals.

01

Initial Assessment · 60 minutes

We assess your range of movement, spinal mechanics, strength, and nerve involvement, then explain the clinical picture in plain language.

02

Your Care Plan · Day 1

You leave the first visit with a written plan: what is driving the pain, which therapies you need, and what to do at home.

03

Active Treatment · Weeks 2 to 6

Hands-on treatment settles symptoms while graded exercise rebuilds tolerance for sitting, lifting, and training.

04

Keeping It Away · Ongoing

We move you out of corrective care into maintenance, with the strength work and checkpoints that stop the next flare-up.

Frequently asked questions

No. You can book directly with our physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists. Some extended health plans ask for a referral for reimbursement, so it is worth checking your policy.

Many patients notice meaningful relief within the first two or three visits. Correcting the underlying mechanics usually takes a structured six to eight week program, and your clinician will give you a realistic timeline at the assessment.

Most extended health plans cover physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture. We offer direct billing to many major providers, and our front desk can confirm before your first visit.

Physiotherapy focuses on movement patterns, strength, and graded loading. Chiropractic focuses on joint mobility and spinal alignment. For back pain the two often work well together, which is why both are in the building.

Gentle movement beats bed rest. Short rest during a severe flare is fine, but getting back to comfortable movement early is linked to faster recovery and fewer recurrences.

Usually not. Imaging often shows age-related changes that do not match the source of pain. Your clinician screens for the specific signs that warrant imaging and refers you when it is appropriate.
