What Is Brazilian Lymphatic Massage?
Brazilian lymphatic massage is a hands-on drainage technique developed in Brazil. It uses firm, fast, rhythmic strokes that push retained fluid toward your lymph nodes, so the work feels more active than a classic gentle drainage session. Most people book it to:
- Flush retained fluid out of the abdomen, legs, arms, and face
- Reduce bloating, puffiness, and post-surgical swelling
- Sculpt and define the waist, hips, and legs by moving fluid, not fat
- Support healing after liposuction, tummy tuck, or other cosmetic surgery
Unlike deep tissue work that presses into muscle, Brazilian lymphatic massage uses firm, quick, rhythmic strokes that follow the direction of your lymphatic vessels and finish at the lymph nodes. It is more intense than traditional manual lymphatic drainage, but it should never be painful, and your therapist adjusts the pressure to what your tissue can handle that day.

How Brazilian Lymphatic Massage Helps You Feel Better
Brazilian lymphatic massage is commonly booked for:
- Post-surgical swelling after liposuction, tummy tuck, BBL, or orthopedic surgery
- Bloating and a heavy, swollen feeling in the stomach and legs
- Body contouring goals, such as a flatter stomach and a more defined waist
- Fluid retention from hormones, travel, long shifts on your feet, or pregnancy recovery
- Sluggish digestion, fatigue, and that puffy, run down feeling
- Recovery support for athletes and active people
Because the strokes move trapped fluid back into circulation, most people see and feel a difference in one session: a flatter stomach, looser clothing, lighter legs, and better sleep that night. Results build with a series, which is why post-surgical clients are usually booked in a run of closely spaced appointments.
A Personalized Approach to Brazilian Lymphatic Massage at Coquitlam Wellness Center
Your body is unique, and your session should be too. At Coquitlam Wellness Center, treatment is never a one-size-fits-all experience.
Every Brazilian lymphatic massage here is tailored to:
- Your goals, whether that is post-surgical recovery, debloating, or contouring
- Where fluid is pooling and how firmly your tissue tolerates the work
- Your surgical history and any guidance from your surgeon or physician
Brazilian lymphatic massage can be booked on its own or paired with other services, such as registered massage therapy or physiotherapy, so both the fluid and the underlying restrictions get addressed.
